Students work together in the classroom, on the schoolyard, and at various off-campus locations within our community. Transportation SHSM
The Transportation Specialist High Skills Major is a two year program designed to fulfill all O.S.S.D. graduation requirements while giving students the opportunity to explore their interests in transportation technology.

Students will have the opportunity to gain experience with vehicle maintenance as well as small engine and recreational equipment repair. Banting’s facilities include two large shops, both equipped with a good selection of basic automotive hand tools including hand-held diagnostic scan tools.

The school’s proximity to Georgian Bay provides opportunities for transportation related trades in boating (repair, diagnosis, sales of watercraft) and the abundance of trail systems in Simcoe County support the service of groundsport equipment (ATV’s, snowmobiles, dirt bikes).
