Banting Memorial High School
opened in 1951 and is now the second largest school in the Simcoe
County District School Board. The school is named in honour of
Sir Frederick Banting, a key member of the Canadian scientific
team that discovered how to extract and use insulin for treating
diabetes. The location of our school, Alliston, Ontario, was the
home town of Sir Frederick Banting.
