Announcements - May 22ndhttp://ban.scdsb.on.ca/about-us/news/school-news/83Announcements - May 22nd<p>​<span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong>Friday May 22, 2015</strong></span></p><ul><li><strong>   </strong>On Wednesday, the Junior Tennis Team traveled to Barrie for Regionals.  The day was highlighted by Bronwyn K. and Dawson F. who won the gold medal in mixed doubles, as well as Noah R. and Lydia B. who won the bronze medal in the same division.  Good luck next week at GBs.</li></ul><ul><li> The Junior Girls' Soccer team travelled to Collingwood yesterday for their playoff semi-final game against the host team Collingwood Collegiate.  The team raised their game outplaying their opponents from the opening whistle.  Banting took an early lead just minutes into the game when Jessica B. headed in a perfect cross from Maddi M..  Collingwood tied it up in the second half and it would remain tied through regulation time.  In overtime, Banting pushed forward in search of a goal and their efforts were rewarded when Hayley T. slotted home the winner from close range with just minutes left to play in extra time.  The team will now travel to Barrie on Monday to play Joan of Arc in the GBSSA junior soccer final.  Good Luck Banting!<br><br><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong></strong></span></li><li>Sweat, tears, laughter and sunburns were had by your Banting Track and Field team at the GBs yesterday in Midland.  Some memorable highlights were an epic open Boys 4 by 400 metre run, an extra-long bus ride home, and personal bests set by many athletes.  Fourteen athletes will be moving on representing the school at Central Regionals next week.  Well done to all.  <br>There will be a short practice tonight, as well as next Monday and Tuesday.<br><br><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong></strong></span></li><li>Any Athletic Society members attending next week's field trip need to bring their forms and money to either Mr. Harnish in Room 123A during Period 3, or Mr. Haas in Room 127A during Period 3 or 4.<br><br><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong></strong></span></li><li>There will be an emergency Fine Arts Council meeting on Monday after school.  Everyone MUST attend. This is a great opportunity if you like to help out with any of the following duties.<br>- Opening and closing the stages<br>- Classic Cars<br>- Honey Headquarters<br>- Kids Corner<br>- Pony rides<br>- Floater/the areas requiring the most support<br> Don't forget you all need to earn 40 hours of community service to graduate!!<br><br><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong></strong></span></li><li>Cafeteria:  Happy Freebie Friday!                                      Free Jet Spray with every purchase!                                  See you at lunch!</li></ul>

Yesterday the team won their quarterfinal game with a 66-0 score over J.O.A.  Michaela K. was awarded player of the game.  In the afternoon the girls fought hard to beat Eastview 12-0 in the Semi-finals. The girls now head to the GBSSA finals on Monday at the Barrie Sports Complex at 4:30pm to take on Bear Creek.  Short Practice tonight ladies.</li></ul><ul><li>Could teachers please excuse members of the Jr. Girls' Soccer team at 12:30 pm for their playoff game in Collingwood today.  Good Luck Banting!<br> </li><li>The second pizza day is today!!! Teachers who have been assigned Thursday May 21st as your pizza day, please send one or two students, depending on the size of your order) to the Hospitality room to pick up your order at the following times.  Period 3 classes can pick up orders at 11:00 and Period 4 classes can pick up orders at 12:15.  There will be a limited number of additional slices of pizza for sale in Hospitality at $2/slice for both staff and students. The Pizza for Nepal Fundraiser has now reached $1560.  When matched by the government, this amount raises to $3120. Thanks to all of you for participating. Announcements - May 20thhttp://ban.scdsb.on.ca/about-us/news/school-news/81Announcements - May 20th<p>​<span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong>Wednesday May 20, 2015</strong></span></p><ul><li>   Attention all students going on the Stratford Field Trip - please meet at the back bus ramp at 8:00am tomorrow.  Please remember to either bring lunch and dinner or money for both.  We will not be returning to Banting until about 8:00pm.</li></ul><ul><li>Yesterday the Senior Girls Soccer team played their quarter final playoff game against Bear Creek.  After a scoreless first half Banting scored quickly and held on for a 2-0 win to advance to the semifinals.  Then they came up against Eastview in the semis.  They fell behind quickly 1-0 but fought back to tie the game just before the end of the first half.  It stayed that way all the way into overtime.  Unfortunately Eastview scored with only two minutes left.  Congratulations ladies on an amazing season, never giving up and playing until the final whistle.</li></ul><ul><li>Classes who have been assigned Thursday May 21st as their Pizza for Nepal day, will be having pizza tomorrow. Extra slices will be sold at Hospitality for $2 a slice, available for any interested staff or students during their lunch. There will be limited quantities of the extra slices, so get your extra slices fast!
