Announcements - April 24th - April 24th<p>​<span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong>Friday April 24, 2015</strong></span></p><ul><li>  This is a reminder to all graduating students that the self-nomination for commencement awards is closing this weekend.  Be sure to check out the awards on the Guidance website and get your nomination form in ASAP.  Questions?  See your Guidance counsellor today.</li></ul><ul><li>Reminder that it is the last day for link crew applications!!!!!<br> </li><li>Attention all Basketball fans!  On Thursday April 30 during Period 5 the Best Buddies Chapter here at Banting will be hosting a free-throw competition buy out and you could win $500!  For only $5, you will get 60 seconds to shoot as many free throws as you can.  The Top Female, Top Male and Top Buddy winners will each receive movie tickets and be eligible to win one of three $500 National Grand Prizes!  Even if you're not the best, you will be supporting people with intellectual disabilities here at Banting!  It's fun!  Show your school spirit, challenge your friends.  Tickets will be sold NEXT WEEK during both lunches in the Cafeteria from Monday to Wednesday.<br><br></li><li>Cafeteria:    Happy Freebie Friday     </li></ul><p>            Free Jet Spray with Every Purchase!       </p>

We hope you will consider joining your fellow parents, your Principal, a Teacher representative as well as BMHS Student Leaders at the next School Council meeting.</p><p>Each meeting includes an educational and informative presentation geared to parents.</p><p> </p><p>                                                                </p>

Announcements - April 22nd - April 22nd<p>​<span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong>Wednesday April 22, 2015</strong></span></p><ul><li>   Members of the Sr. Badminton team travelled to Georgian College yesterday to compete in their GB Championship.  The players played some of their best badminton EVER and as a result they had some excellent results.  Myles D. and MJ P. ended up 5th but took a game off the eventual winners, Sierra D. came 5th, Laura W. came 3rd.  She battled each match and missed going to OFSAA by a close 3 game match, losing 21-18 in the third.  Our big winner of the day was Nick M..  He fought hard and became the eventual GB Champion!  Congratulations Nick!  Good luck at OFSAA next week!</li></ul><ul><li> Graduating students:<br>Please be aware that the deadline for your "self" nominations awards is due this Friday April 24th.<br><br></li><li>The application deadline for Link Crew applications is this Friday April 24th.<br>Don't delay, do it today!!!<br> </li><li>L 3, L 3, L 3!  Attention to all of you that have signed up for the L 3 Writer's Conference.  We will be meeting at the Bus Ramp at 10:30 tomorrow morning.  Don't forget to bring a lunch or to bring money for pizza.  We will return after busses at the end of the day. </li><li> Cafeteria:     Happy Earth Day!<br><div style="text-align:center;">Tomorrow is Retro Day!</div><div style="text-align:center;">Those big cookies you enjoy!</div><div style="text-align:center;">Bacon Burgers!</div></li></ul><p style="text-align:center;">See you tomorrow or today at lunch!</p>
Announcements - April 21st - April 21st<p>​<span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong>Tuesday April 21, 2015</strong></span></p><ul><li>   Tropical Tuesday Morning Announcement:  In this week's weekly address to the American's by President Obama he spoke about the Florida Everglades.  The Everglades are just one example of a tropical ecosystem that is being affected by Climate Change.  Today the Spirit Day event is <em>Tropical Tuesday</em> in recognition of tropical climate change issues occurring all over the world, tropical deforestation, coral reef bleaching, ocean acidification and rising sea levels to names a few.  Thanks to those of you who dressed up for tropical Tuesday in recognition of Earth Week.  Don't forget, tomorrow is Water Wednesday! <br></li></ul><ul><li>Any track athletes interested in an invitational meet must see Mr. Catt in room 138 during their lunch today.   Practice resumes tomorrow afternoon.<br> </li><li>Students wishing to pick up a few extra volunteer hours, The Alliston Business Improvement Association and the Downtown Businesses Needs your help!  Thursdays, for the next couple of weeks, couple of hours each day, easy jobs helping your community!  This is a GREAT chance for you to connect with Business owners for potential summer jobs!<br> </li><li>"This is a message for the Gay Straight Alliance.  There will be a very short GSA meeting tonight until 3 to take money for Pride Prom tickets."<br> </li><li> "Anime Club will run until 4 o'clock tonight in room 246 -- Come out and have some fun with a very animated group of friends!"</li></ul><ul><li>Would all Girls Rugby players please have a look at the changed game schedule outside of the Double Gym.  Practice tomorrow is cancelled.  See you at the Field House on Thursday.  Remember to bring a dark and a light shirt.</li></ul><ul><li>Cafeteria:     Today's Specials are                   </li></ul><p>                     Pulled Pork with Mash         </p><p>                                 or                                          </p><p>                     BBQ Beef Rib on a Bun.            </p><p>                       See you at lunch!</p>

See you there</p><p>Would all Grade 12 SHSM Health & Wellness Students please see Ms. Andrychuk today Periods 2 or 3 in the Phys.Ed Office to confirm their attendance in the CPR and First Aid Certifications. The dates have changed. </p><p>Attention to all Grade 9 and 10 students trying out for the Junior Tennis team:  Practice today is canceled due to the weather.  The first practice will be tomorrow after school at the G.A. Wright courts.  See you there. </p><p>To all students participating in the canoe trip to Killarney, permission forms are in the folder outside Room 239a, the English Office.   Please return them this Thursday with the fee for the trip.  See you on Thursday in Room 250.</p><p>Attention Drummers!   Banting's Drum Circle is meeting today after school in Room 248 until 4 o'clock.  We're just 7 Drum Circles away from Fine Arts Night on May 28th!! Join us to learn some new rhythms and help us prepare for our participation in Fine Arts Night.  No experience or instrument is necessary and everyone is welcome!!! </p><p>Attention all Senior Boys' Rugby players, please meet Ms. Popp in Room 229 immediately after school for Red Hot forms and a team meeting.  All players are to be in attendance after school.</p><p>Happy Earth Week Banting!  I hope you are wearing your earth tones today as today is Muddy Monday!</p><p>Today think about ways to reduce pollution.
