School Picture RETAKE Day - Friday, November 8, 2019 Picture RETAKE Day - Friday, November 8, 2019<p><strong>All Staff and Students:</strong><strong>  </strong><strong>Mark your calendars - Banting's photo RETAKE day is Friday, November 8, 2019.  This is for any staff/students who missed photo day, or require a retake as they do not approve of the first one!<br></strong></p><p><strong><br></strong></p><p><strong>If you attended the first photo day, visit to reveiw your proofs, using the code given on photo day.  If you recieve your photo package and want retakes, just bring the photos with you to give to the photographer.<br></strong></p><p><strong></strong><strong><br></strong></p><p><strong></strong><strong>Please note that having your photo taken is mandatory for ID and yearbook purposes. Student Medical Forms & Concussion Protocol Forms Medical Forms & Concussion Protocol Forms<p><strong class="ms-rteFontSize-5">Student Medical Plan:</strong><br></p><p>​A completed Student Medical Form (FORM A1420-1 attached) is required each school year, or when a medical need is identified, or when the student transfers to another school, in order to authorize the administration of prescribed medication to students who require it during school hours, or when the medication and/or dosage requirements change.<br>Specific to asthma, every student is now permitted to carry his or her asthma medication if the student has his or her parent’s or guardian’s permission.<br>Parents/guardians and adult students are responsible for ensuring that a current, completed Student Medical Form is signed by a physician and on file at the school.<br>Some students may experience severe life-threatening allergic reactions to bee, hornet, wasp or other flying insect stings or to certain foods or food ingredients such as peanuts. Spikeball Intramural Tournament will begin next Tuesday at lunch!! Please sign up outside the big gym if you want to join the fun!</p><p> </p><p><strong>French/DELF Exam Prep:</strong><strong>  </strong>Are you in grade 12 and are taking French this semester or next semester? Come out to the DELF preparation sessions starting today at lunch time in room 215. DELF is an internationally recognized French language proficiency exam that can help you with university and job applications. The exam will take place at the beginning of May. Please see Mr. Griese or Mlle. Ubbens for more information.</p><p> </p><p><strong>The varsity football team</strong> played Innisdale last Friday winning 26 to 16. Outstanding performances by many. Truly a team effort by all in attendance. </p><p> </p><p><strong>Volunteer Hours:</strong>  Hey Banting! If you are looking for an opportunity to get some community service hours, on October 22, Movement for Change will be holding a clean up around the school and GA Wright. We will be meeting in room 238 directly after school. We ask that everyone is there by 2:45 at the latest, and we will be finished by 4:00. Please ensure that you have a ride home, and bring gardening gloves if you have them. If you are interested, please see the sign-up sheet on the volunteer board by the guidance office. Also, if you cannot stay the whole time but would still like to come out, you are still welcome to attend the clean-up. Please see Mrs. Aranha in room 238 for more details.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Digital Equipment:</strong> To any students interested in learning how to use newest digital TV equipment and learn how to stream school events -- here is your opportunity. Watch the video on Marauder TV and see what you think. If you think this is for you, please come to room 182 and join the stream team this FRIDAY at beginning of LUNCH.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Student Success - Beef Burrittos</strong> will be available for students in Student Success today.</p><p>Students can come at lunch and avail of food provided by the Canadian Home Economics Association.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Dance team</strong> practice will be held Monday October 21, 2019 at lunch time. Please be changed and ready to practice at 10:50. We will practice until 11:30.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Ag SHSM students</strong> are asked to make their way to the bus ramp at 9:30 for their trip to the Elora Dairy Research Centre today.</p><p> </p><p><strong>The Banting Cross Country Team</strong> ran in the wind and cold yesterday at Sunnidale Park in Barrie.  The team had a phenomenal race.  The novice boys ran well together challenging each other the entire race.  The Novice girls of Morgan, Paige and Rowan had great paced runs.  Joseph had a strong race and finished feeling great.  PB's rounded out the rest of the day with Olivia Wilson charging to a 12th place finish with Kate Wadge right behind in 14th.  Senior boys came in again with a strong team finish. Sarah Medcalf again charged the senior girls with a 3rd place speedy finish. GBSSA is on Tuesday next week.  Bus leaves at 6:45am.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Ultimate Frisbee intramural</strong> <strong>championships</strong> will be held today at lunch on the main field. All teams are to show up ready to play by 11:00.
