Including some wild WING plays. The throwing game was not needed much with the great running, but some great connections were made, including a 30 yard down the middle strike for a touchdown. The Marauders dominated all aspects of the game leaving Nantyre unsure what happened.

Final score was Banting 33. Nantyre 7.

First Playoff game Vs. Collingwood. 1:30 on Monday

●

Attention all curlers. Our season will begin November 7th. If you are interested please sign up in guidance outside Ms. Doney's office.

●

Just a reminder that the Banting Christian Fellowship Club will be meeting today in room 108 during your lunch time. This club is open to all staff and students looking to enjoy some time and some food with some friends.

●

Please check the list outside the Main Office. If your name is on it, you have something for pick-up. Please see reception.

●

Would Danika Grice, Olivia Berthiaume and Dante Taylor and please come to the Main Office.

Students had difficulty accessing the test in many cases. This was not a technical issue at our school board level—it was at EQAO. This was not something we could fix ourselves.

We are waiting for more information from EQAO about what this issue will mean for students. Obviously this situation is frustrating—we are all very disappointed.

Our staff and students worked very hard to prepare for the test. Letter to students and parents from EQAO re: OSSLT to students and parents from EQAO re: OSSLT
Online Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) Trial Cancellation

Dear student or parent,

It is with great disappointment that we acknowledge that the October 20 trial of the online OSSLT was unsuccessful. Unfortunately, we experienced widespread technical issues with the network and, as a result, we had to cancel the trial assessment. We do not yet exactly know the root cause of the issue, but we are undertaking a thorough investigation.

We recognize that students spent considerable time and energy preparing for the trial assessment and that they had hoped to be able to complete their literacy requirement. The outcome was not what we hoped for, and for this, we are truly sorry. Because of the widespread nature of the issue, we do not yet know the implications on scoring and reporting.

As you know, this was a trial. This means students will still be considered first -time eligible for the regularly scheduled OSSLT in March 2017 to satisfy their literacy requirement. We can also confirm that the March OSSLT administration will include a pen-and-paper version of the assessment as originally planned.

Again we are very sorry and promise to keep working with you to get this right.

Sincerely,
Richard M. Jones, Ph.D.
Director, Assessment and Reporting
EQAO
