It will run Tuesdays and Thursdays in room 232 from 3pm-4:30pm. </span><span style="font-size:12pt;"><span class="ms-rteFontSize-2">The Tuesday session will run from March 28th to June 13th and the the Thursday session will run from March 30th to June 15th. </span><br></span></p>

The last date for university applications is January 11th. Today's Announcements - Friday, April 21, 2017's Announcements - Friday, April 21, 2017<p style="text-align:center;"><strong>FRIDAY, APRIL 21, 2017</strong></p><p style="text-align:center;"><strong> </strong></p><p>Remember Banting Student Council will be visiting all grade <span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong>twelve</strong></span> classes today during second period to promote the Pirate Pit.</p><p style="text-align:center;">●</p><p>Attention all Banting graduating students!  Gown packages are now on sale for $25.00 through School Cash online or in the office with cash or cheque.   If you already own a gown and would like to purchase a Tassel or Vee Stole you may do so in the office for the cost of $5.00 each.  When you purchase your gown online please bring your receipt to the office when picking up your tickets.</p><p style="text-align:center;">●</p><p>Hey Banting Graduates, Banting's Prom Committee is putting together a slideshow to be played during this year's prom dinner, to highlight the memories you've made during your years in high school. Email any photos you want include to A flyer will be posted in each grade 12 homeroom class, as well as some around the school. If you have any questions please contact Ms. Ritchie, Ms. Rennie or any of the Banting Prom Committee. They will be accepting photos until May 1st.</p><p style="text-align:center;">●</p><p>A reminder to all grade 9 and 10 students who signed up for the junior tennis team:</p><p>Try Outs will start on Monday after school at the G.A. courts.</p><p>See you there.</p><p style="text-align:center;">●</p><p>Yesterday, our Jr. Badminton team travelled to Innisdale to compete in their Regional championships.  We had some tremendous results!  8 out of the 16 qualified for GBs!  Julia Heidel and Tannor Darlington <strong>won</strong> mixed doubles, Risha Patel and Roy Wales placed <strong>second</strong> in mixed doubles, Brinley Cornaby and Brianna Christos placed <strong>third</strong> in girls' doubles, Cooper MacAdams had many hard-fought matches and placed <strong>second</strong> in boys' singles and Katie Parsons <strong>dominated and won </strong>girls' singles!  Congratulations and good luck as you compete in GBs next Thursday in Bracebridge!</p><p style="text-align:center;">●</p><p>This is a reminder to all girls' rugby players that uniforms and shorts are available. Please see Mr. Griese in room 213 (the language office) with your deposit cheque to pick up your uniform.</p><p style="text-align:center;">●</p><p>Thank you Banting! Yesterday we held our second blood donor clinic of the year and as a school community you helped us not only achieve but surpass our 72 unit goal. Attendance Area Review - staff recommendations Area Review - staff recommendations<p>​​<span style="color:#595959;font-family:arial, sans-serif;background-color:#ffffff;">Following are the contents of a letter being distributed to all families at Banting Memorial High School, Bear Creek Secondary School and Nottawasaga Pines Secondary School regarding the attendance area review.​</span></p><p><span style="color:#595959;font-family:arial, sans-serif;background-color:#ffffff;"></span></p><p>The Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) monitors enrolment trends and facility conditions in an effort to ensure that school attendance areas are structured to support student achievement. When necessary, SCDSB staff complete attendance area reviews (AAR) to balance enrolment and support student success and well-being.</p><p>The SCDSB Board of Trustees has approved a review of the attendance areas of Banting Memorial High School, Bear Creek Secondary School and Nottawasaga Pines Secondary School. The intent is to balance enrolment and alleviate pressures at Banting Memorial High School and Bear Creek Secondary School by realigning feeder school attendance boundaries. </p><p>SCDSB staff are currently considering the following:</p><ul><li>Aligning the Tosorontio Central PS and Baxter Central PS boundaries entirely with Nottawasaga Pines Secondary School's attendance area. <br><br>The review will take place during the 2017-18 school year and include a public meeting to address parent questions and get feedback on the proposed changes. <br><br>Further information is included in the SCDSB's 2016-17 Capital Plan.
